How to Prepare Yourself for Swimming?

How to Prepare Yourself for Swimming?

1. Warm-ups

Warm up for 10 to 15 minutes and move your joints and muscles to prevent cramps caused by cold water in the swimming pool.

2. Practical Swimming Equipment

· Swimwear: It's very necessary to wear a good-quality and well-fitting swimsuit. If the swimsuit is too big, it will easily hold water or even fall down, which is very embarrassing. Moreover, wearing uncomfortable swimwear will directly affect the whole swimming activity.

· Swim Cap: Wearing a swimming cap is able to prevent the hair from being a mess and reduce the damage caused by the disinfectant in the pool. And the swim cap you choose needs to be made of nylon or rubber and elastic.

· Goggles: Goggles can help stop dirty water in the swimming pool from entering your eyes and avoid eye infections. At the same time, it is convenient to observe the situation underwater to better ensure personal safety.

· Earplugs: It is inevitable that water will flow into your ears when you swim. However, it may be uncomfortable, or cause a sore and affect listening. So in order to prevent water from entering, earplugs should be prepared.

· Nose Clip: In swimming, waves often push water into our noses, causing swallowing and coughing. Therefore, people, especially beginners, need to prepare a nose clip to keep water from entering noses, which can force them to breathe through their mouths instead of noses.

· Floating Objects: Beginners had better bring their own floating objects, such as lifebuoys, life jackets, kickboards and so on. More importantly, do not forget to check whether there is air leakage in life jackets and lifebuoys to prevent potential accidents.

3. Other Points for Attention

· Don't go swimming on an empty stomach: Swimming itself is a physical exercise that dissipates the body heat quickly and consumes a lot of energy. If you enter the water without eating, it's easy to cause hunger, and even lead to hypoglycemia or other adverse reactions and accidents like drowning.

· Be sure to check out the depth of water and underwater conditions before swimming to avoid being injured.
